Manashi Chatterjee is one of the exceedingly talented daughter of Jatra Maestro Shri Mohan Chatterjee of Mohan Opera in Kolkata. She was born in a cultural family at Basirhat in West Bengal and started her training in music at the age of 03. She became disciple of eminent classical vocalist of Shri Arun Chattopadhyay. Later on, she was trained in Rabindra sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, by all famous musicians like Shri Sukumar Mitra, Shri Adhir Bagchi, Shri Suprakash Chaki, Smt Dipika Chattopadhyay. At the age of 14, she won 1 st prize in all the events, Rabindra sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, & Classical music, from the most prestigious music competition of district 24 Parganas organised by Surobani Sangeet Sanastha. She was the first girl of “Lady Mukherjee Girls High School” of Basirhat. Later on she has completed her Master’s from Calcutta University. Earlier she was associated with All India Radio for a long time. Afterwards she has joined in a school as Asstt. Teacher, Travel is her passion and devotion. She is associated with many creative and cultural groups and always try to learn more and more..………

Throughout the years of adolescence, when we are at our most vulnerable state and when we are still struggling to reconcile ourselves to the world. Our Manashi didi is always with us through our moments of uncertainty. Our Miss is our friend, a counsellor, a mentor, a guide, an educator. She behaves with us as our elder sister. She shows us by example, the way how to lead our lives. She encourages us to think beyond our textbooks. One of our friends, when she has gone astray and she stopped to coming to school for a long period. Our miss found her through social media and brought her on the right path gradually by motivating and counselling her. We know her not only as our teacher but she is also branded to us as a musician, cyclist, traveller who loves nature. Didi, you give us your love and we do not ask for more.
